Vietnamese canned tuna imported into the US is popular in the market

According to a related report, Vietnam is gradually becoming the second largest supplier of canned tuna to the U.S. market after Thailand, with the total amount of imported canned tuna accounting for 16% of total U.S. imports.

Vietnam’s canned tuna exports continued to grow at a high rate in the first months of 2024, said VASEP. In April this year, Vietnam’s canned tuna exports to the US market increased by 127%, equivalent to more than 10 million USD. In the first four months of this year, Vietnam-US canned tuna exports amounted to more than $38 million, up 25% compared to 2022 year-on-year.

In addition, the share of canned tuna exported from Mexico to the U.S. has also increased slightly. the average export price of Mexican canned tuna products to this market in the first quarter of 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, is on an upward trend, at about $4,735 per ton.
